A parameter such as the thickness of aluminium foils can be typed in while other data (ratemeter counts) is logged.

Beta radiation is readily absorbed by aluminium foil and the data was obtained using a Blue Box ratemeter sensor and keyboard entry for the foil surface density.

Datadisc can then apply a fit function.

The apparent exponential relationship can be tested by selecting the Data: Fit Function command.

Choose the fit function and click on calculate. Ensure that the 'Put fit function in channel' box is checked and click Close.

Note that the Graph: Set axes Command has been used to plot the fit function as a continuous line with the original data shown as points.
